Een Belg aan de wereldtop in snooker ?
ma. 10 mrt. Kristof De Bruyn is the new world snooker champion at the ‘World Disability Snooker Championships’ in Thailand !
Kristof De Bruyn (member of VGT Mechelen) has been playing snooker for years in Belgium within the disabled sports world.
But now ... he has also scored high within the G-Sport world in snooker, because he participated in the World Snooker Championship in Nonthaburi - Thailand from 25 February to 2 March 2025 ! .

Indeed, Kristof took first place and thus crowned himself world champion for the first time in his snooker career!

This is an exceptional achievement and a well-deserved crowning of his talent, perseverance and dedication to Snooker.
We warmly congratulate Kristof on this brilliant victory and are honoured to have a world champion in our Deaf Sports Federation.

In the last 5 years, he could already gather quite a record:
In 2020, he already won the Belgian Open. Then, in 2023 and 2024, he won The Cube UK Disability Snooker Championship. In 2024, he confirmed his good form by winning 3 more tournaments: The Belgian Open, The British Open and the Wilson Interiors Hull Open. Earlier this year, he won the European Disability Championship in Portugal.
