Sport is for everyone ! Deaf sport has been an important part of the Flemish deaf community for decades, with its own culture, values, traditions and even its own Games! Thanks to various sporting events, organized by Dovensport Vlaanderen and the Belgian Deaf sport Committee, many deaf people find their place in the sign language community. They create new networks and friendships, while learning Flemish sign language.
With the support of the Flemish government, we want to provide information about deaf sport in Flanders with this website and at the same time encourage everyone who wants to take the step towards deaf sport.
