On 15 December 2024 Dieter Coussement member of DHC Kortrijk participated in the World Marathon Championships in Taipei.
His goal was to finish within 3h but unfortunately due to Jetlag and not enough sleep, Dieter started having a hard time after 32 km ! His legs couldn't take any more so he already thought of quitting, but he kept going and came in at 3h 8 min 31sec, this is a 3-minute improvement on his previous record, which he achieved at the European Championships in Denmark in 2023.
Despite not achieving his goal, he was satisfied afterwards because it was a very nice experience to witness that once !!!
