In Memoriam René De Vos
wo. 20 dec. '23 With sadness, the Belgian Deaf sports Committee learns of the death of Rene De Vos (25/08/1942 - 12/12/2023)
BDC learned of the passing of René De Vos, former member of and beloved sportsman at Dosporta (Royal Deaf Sport Antwerp). 

We know him as a very if excellent football player with 9 national caps (between 1964 and 1970) and 1 selection for the 1969 Deaflympics in Belgrade (14th place). He became Belgian champion with Dosporta in 1970 and 1979 and won the Cup of Belgium in 1974, 1976 and 1978 with a total of 150 selections for Dosporta.

But he was also a very good sportsman in athletics and cross-country running. Belgian Athletics champion : 800 metres in 1968, 1500 metres in 1969 and 2 relay titles Olympic Relay (800 + 400 + 200 + 100m) in 1963 + Swedish Relay (400+300+200+100m) in 1964 and 4x400 metres in 1973.   

He was also a board member as a commissioner from 1968-1970.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends at Dosporta Antwerp.
