With a personal record (8:55.76) on the 800-metre freestyle, Leendert secured a final place today, which will continue on Thursday evening, 17 August at 23:00 Belgian time!
With the 3rd fastest time of all participants, Leendert is now also a serious medal contender at this World Championships.
Thanks to the support of his club TZT Torhout, his trainer Hubert Backs, the many supporters and his parents, Leendert was able to participate in this World Cup. It is a very nice debut at world level for him as a 17-year-old.
