Belgium Deaf Youth Futsal, under the guidance of the Brussels club SUJE SourDoof, participated in the 4th edition of the European Deaf Youth Futsal Tournament in Frankfurt (Germany) on April 10 and 12. Following previous participations in Belgium (2023), Spain (2024), and Italy (2025), this edition was once again a valuable international experience for our youth teams.
This tournament is a wonderful initiative by various countries to encourage deaf youth teams and promote them internationally.
The Belgian delegation was led by Technical Director Gauthier de Jamblinne de Meux (BDC Youth Futsal – SUJE SourDoof), together with coaches David Van Assche (U15) and Ali Bargaze (U13).
Strong performance by U13 crowned with tournament victory! The U13 team had an impressive run:
Group stage:
Belgium – Germany: 2-3
Spain – Belgium: 3-4 (Man of the match: Alessio M.)
Belgium – England: 9-0 (Man of the match: Geoffroy L.)
Italy – Belgium: 6-0 (Man of the match: Jonah D.)
Semi-final:
Belgium – Spain: 7-1 (Man of the match: Jonah D.)
Final:
Belgium – Germany: 5-3 (Man of the match: Vienzo V.L.)
After a strong group stage, the team grew in cohesion and resilience. In the final, despite fatigue and injuries, the players showed their character and quality. The result: U13 champions — a wonderful reward for their effort and preparation! U15 shows character and fighting spirit:
Group stage:
Germany – Belgium: 5-0
Spain – Belgium: 7-2
Belgium – Italy: 3-1 (Man of the match: Staf D.V.)
Belgium – England: 6-3
After a difficult start against strong opponents, the U15 recovered impressively. With victories against Italy, they demonstrated their growth and mentality. Unfortunately, it was just not enough for a place in the semi-finals, but it is a performance to be proud of.
Individual and team awards
U13:
Best goalkeeper: Vienzo V.L.
All Star Team U13: Vienzo V.L. & Jonah D.
U15:
Fair Play Trophy
BDC Voetbalsport wholeheartedly congratulates all players, coaches, and supervisors on these great results. These performances show that the future of our youth academy is particularly promising!
