The Belgian Deaf Sports Committee is deeply saddened by the passing of Pierre and loses a sportsman who was highly regarded in the Belgian deaf sports world. He was a valued member of RLS Brussels.
In basketball, he participated with the Belgian team in the 1969 Deaflympics in Belgrade (then Yugoslavia).
In tennis, he won two national titles in men's doubles (1991 and 1992).
He subsequently won several national football titles and was selected for the national football team four times.
His passing also affects us because he was unable to experience the 100th anniversary of our federation. Photos and other information about his sports career can be found in the current exhibition (until November 2nd) and the book "100 Years of Deaf Sports in Belgium" in Mechelen (H. Hartkerk, center mARTa).
