Affiliated to the K.D.S. Turnhout club, Mady Embrechts (married to a deaf man) was the first hearing woman to occupy an official function within our federation as Technical Director (T.D.) of Bowling.
She took on the heavy responsibility as T.D. during the 5th European Bowling Championships organised on our soil in Brussels in 1994. Belgium was awarded a medal with Paul Simons.
For health reasons, she had to end her mandate in 1999. The following year, she left us for good.
We will not forget this person who was open to working with deaf people in our federation.
