In Memoriam Josette Robinson
wo. 5 apr. '23 It is with great sadness that the Belgian Deaf Sport Committee learns of the death of Josette Robinson (19/07/1941 - 05/04/2023)
Born July 19, 1941 - † April 5, 2023

The Belgian Deaf sport Committee is very saddened by the death of Josette and loses here a sportswoman of heart and soul who was very appreciated in the Belgian sporting world of the deaf.

Member of Woluwé S.S.B. and passionate about tennnis (just like her twin sister Nicole), Josette Robinson quickly climbed the ladder to the international level where she participated in numerous competitions, from the European Championships to the Deaflympics.

Josette was then Technical Director of C.I.S.S. from 1989 to 2005 and of E.D.S.O. from 1992 to 2004.

The 20th Deaflympics in Melbourne 2005 was the occasion to pay tribute to Josette Robinson with Emmanuel Rossel (Football T.D.).

On 14.02.2010, Josette Robinson (Woluwé S.S.B.) became the first female president of the L.S.F.S., succeeding Pierre Dewit (R.L.S. Brussels).  She managed this mandate for 9 years until April 2019 due to health reasons.

With her talent as a sportswoman and contact person, Josette was an example for many athletes.
