Algemene Vergadering BDC is vlot verlopen
wo. 15 jul. Barely one club was absent from the annual General Meeting
In the presence of a large number of delegates from the 13 affiliated sports clubs and several technical delegates, the General Meeting was held in the De Kam hall in Wezenbeek Oppem.
Under the chairmanship of Jan Van Den Braembussche, the Executive Committee presented the following items:
  • the 2025–2026 Annual Report by Lieven Kind, Director of Elite Sport
  • the Report by the Secretary, Nicolas Rettmann
  • the Financial Report by the Treasurer, Bernadette Baelde
  • the Strategic Plan for 2026–2027
  • the calendar for the 2026–2027 sporting season
  • a number of amendments to the Rules of Procedure in accordance with the BDC’s Articles of Association

The quadrennial elections were then held. Both Francesco Camillo (board member) and Bernadette Baelde (treasurer) decided not to seek re-election. We eventually appointed a new board (all members will serve from 2026 to 2031), comprising:
  • Chair: Jan Van den Braembussche
  • Secretary: Nicolas Rettmann
  • Treasurer: Christophe Mallieu
  • Director of Elite Sport: Lieven Kind
  • Director of Youth Sport: Dominique Gretzer
  • CEO: vacancy...
  • Coördinator competitions : vacancy..
  • Coördinator Media Relations : vacancy...

Bernadette Baelde was then honoured for her 13 years of service as BDC treasurer and was given a warm send-off!

The roles of the technical delegates were then reviewed, and the following new candidates have come forward:
  • Badminton: Joris Dewolf
  • Beach volleyball: Kevin Sauvaget
  • Bowling: Michel Lacroix
  • Volleyball: Lennart Vanoverberghe

This autumn, the board will organise a workshop together with the technical delegates to strengthen the future of BDC. Brainstorming, consultation, joining forces, working together… that is the message for the future of deaf sport in Belgium!
